Thinking about phrasiology

I recently learned that, "nip it in the bud" is the correct way of stating the phrase. I have always said, "kick it in the butt". Although my phrasiology is not the socially accepted pharse, it has several lessons to offer:

1. I have a more aggressive nature, both a cause and result from my choice of words
2. I make phrases, I don't follow other cliches
3. I mean business, so should you!

Did a google search because my husband was telling me that I should be saying "nip it in the bud" not "kick it in the butt" and found your post. I have always said "kick it in the butt" like my father always did. Nice to know we aren't the only ones.
